Piglet’s Deep and Purposeful Thoughts

Well…not too bad…but I thought he was going to need stitches! I think that’s God’s little reminder that I need to find a pediatrician THIS WEEK! You gotta love how He uses the kids as my reminder! The poor baby was messing around with his Dad and brother and fell off a chair and smacked the back of his head into the corner of a wall! Yep…big bloody gash on the back of his precious little head! But this morning…almost all better…well still messy but he says it doesn’t hurt (no matter how often I ask) and he seems normal! Sigh! Just thought I’d share! Enjoy the dog days of August! Our babies are growing up way too fast!

Love to you all! Donna

{August 17, 2007}   We have a Preschool!

Hi All!

Can you believe we finally found a preschool…that had two openings, is close to the house and is very reasonable priced with an awesome curriculum! Well…I am just as surprised as you are…we will go next Thursday to meet with the director and then on the 30th they have an open house where we will meet the teachers. 16 kids per room and two credentialled teachers with masters degrees! How awesome is that! Ask me the price…go ahead…$175 per child for 3 days a week! Now that’s about the only thing you can be jealous about me living here…but if I do say so myself that is a good one!

Hi All!

Tonight Scott and I were talking…and we figured that if some major weather or seismic event was happening we must be there for it! Take for example…

The Loma Prieta Earthquake in Northern CA…We were there for that…very scary!

The Northridge Earthquake…We just moved to Southern CA and one month later this one hits!

The Record-Breaking Heat & Cold in Southern Ca last summer (2006) and winter 2007…yep…we were there!

And the Winner is…This Summer (2007) the driest and hotest on record in Middle Tennessee…moved here just in time!!!!!!

NOW I ASK YOU…what on earth did I do to deserve all of that!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Happy End of Monday…Working on Tuesday!

Love,

Donna

Hi Ladies!

If you could all see the bedroom I am using as my office right now all of your chins would hit the floor! I have piles and piles and piles of papers! Papers to file, work to do for Scott, documents to sort and receipts to shred, junk mail to throw away and torn out articles I will probably never read, but insist on keeping anyway! For some strange reason all of the other rooms of my home I can keep somewhat organized, but when it comes to the home office I am just at a loss! Any suggestions????? I am dying for any help I can get! What do you all do with all of the paper that comes into your homes! Just like all the crap I moved and shouldn’t have I want to throw it away, but with paperwork you never know what you will need…and in the age of identity theft you have to shred…and then there’s the pile by the shredder! Sigh! Is anyone else floating in paper?

And on my other note…the boys will be going to preschool…yes I said preschool…in the Fall! It is bittersweet! How can they be growing up so fast! I will miss them and yet I am excited about the prospect of having a couple of hours to myself! Yep…bittersweet it is!

It has been sweltering hot here, we got a pool today from Toys R Us and spent several hours soaking up the cool water…it was really nice! I hear after Labor Day it starts to cool off…it better…I need a reason to wear my sweaters…not that I won’t wear them anyway! I hope you are all cool and spending some lazy days at the beach…enjoy being so close ladies…if someday you have to move you will regret not being there more!

Just my two cents…with a whole lotta love! Donna

{August 11, 2007}   What’s the Heat Index?!

And why is it going to feel like 106 degress here today! Please explain to me how we left Southern California (and last years hottest summer ever) and now we’re here in TN and they are having the hottest summer (and drought) on record since 1988! Are we lucky or what!?!

Here’s wishing I was close to the beach!

Love to all!

{August 6, 2007}   Getting Settled!

Hi Ladies!

Well…it’s August and we have almost been here two months! Can you believe it!?! I sure can’t…time flies…whether you are having fun or not! To date we have done many exciting and new things here in Franklin, TN! I’ll give you some details…this past weekend we went to the Williamson County Fair…a small town old time fair! Carnival rides, the animal section and all of the fair goodies…the boys won prizes in the carni section…a panda for Brendan and a dalmation for my firefighter Logan! They are getting so big! We saw so many tractors and all of the vegetables, jams, etc. that won first prize were out…along with some vendors selling beautiful homemade goods…it was really cool! We have also been to the Nashville Zoo…it’s just a great zoo…lots of fun for the boys and for me too…it was so nice we bought a family pass so we can go a bunch! We have found a really nice park…Pinkerton Park…we love to go there…when it’s not so humid! There are lots of swings and other play equipment and the boys just love playing around! Not many people there, I guess everyone plays at home in their huge backyards! We know where Costco, Target, Wild Oats, and TJ Maxx are so we’re doing good in that area! I have been to the Mall, but I’m not much of a shopper anymore! I still need to find some more stores for the boys…we are growing like weeds and wearing out our clothes like crazy! We have a new favorite hamburger place…Steak N Shake…don’t laugh it’s really good! (Ann will attest to that! HA!) And we have found the best New York pizza place out here…real italians from Brooklyn, NY and they make AWESOME pizza…and I’m not kidding…I don’t kid about pizza! I’ve also found Michaels and Old Navy which is great too! There are some great antique stores out here too…and they have great old (really antique items) at great prices! It’s been kinda fun checking things out and finding out what’s new and where to find things! We found a great coffee place in downtown Franklin called Merridees! They make an awesome mocha…blows Starbucks away! And then there is the Puffy Muffin…a bakery that is just awesome! Best muffins I’ve ever had! There is an adorable post office…nice friendly people behind the counter and we found the library…it’s brand new and so awesome!

As for the house…well I have a ton of room, almost too much room…I’ve never had a house this big and after seeing our moving truck all I can tell you is I never want to fill this house…we have so much stuff…sometimes I just want to throw it all away! Yikes!

I know…I still need to post pictures of it all and I will I promise…hopefully before we move back! Ha!

My love to you all!

Donna
