Piglet’s Deep and Purposeful Thoughts

Hi All!

I’m sorry it has been so very long since I have posted. Things here have been a little nuts. My sister was visiting in September followed by my parents and in-laws in October and that takes us to now. We are fine and things are moving along. Scott’s work is going well…a little slow on the pay outs but going well. Hopefully we should close the deals for his movies soon and they will go into production (post writers strike of course) and then we will hopefully get some “real” money…whatever that means!

I am getting adjusted to life out here. Still haven’t made any major friends yet….but some nice ones from the boys preschool. The ladies out here seem really nice and very down to earth which is refreshing! I’m doing fine other than the girlfriend company so that’s been a plus! Things are going well with Scott and I and the boys and we are spending a lot of quality family time together! We are looking forward to the holidays with great anticipation!

Hi All!

Well it’s been quite a while since I posted something here! You wouldn’t believe all of the things that have gone on since I’ve posted! Scott’s business is picking up and going quite well. Check us out on www.thedreamlandchronicles.com and if you feel so inclined to order a book I’ll be the one mailing it out! The stories are going well and he now has a literary agent…we’ll see how that works out! The writer’s strike has put a hold on his movie deals…but they will resume and hopefully go into production once it’s over! We have had a ton of company…all family! My sister and her family, my parents, Scott’s parents and then we had his cousin Judy and her family here for Thanksgiving! Seriously the best Thanksgiving of almost 15 years of marriage…and no I’m not kidding! The boys are enjoying preschool and enjoying their new friends. Their latest thing is trains…we just love them! There’s an old train station downtown that is now used strictly for freight…we go there every day after school and try to see some trains…it’s cute how excited the are and how much they enjoy it! Well…Fall is officially over and it’s now just cold. When I took the boys to school this morning the temperature was 37 degrees at 9am! Now…not to be a wimp…but that’s just damn cold! My new best friend is down! I bought a down vest and if the temperature keeps dropping I do believe I will own a full length down coat…I never needed it in CA…but I sure do understand the need for it now! I will also be investing in a pair of flannel lined jeans…not super attractive…but I am told very warm…and I will need them! My skin is CA thin! As we move toward Christmas the house is decorated and we are looking for a Christmas tree farm where we can cut our own tree down…but the closest one seems to be about 49 miles away…I’m not sure it makes sense to put that on the roof of my van and drive for an hour just to cut our own tree! Oh well! We have the only house on the block that has large blow ups on the front lawn. We have Frosty and this year we added the Penguins on the sled from Target…the boys love it! People out here decorate more traditionally…just a wreath on every window and then those candles in the windows too! But they were decorating before Thanksgiving out here! It was funny seeing things going up and thinking it was too early…it’s never too early for me…but there it is! Everyone wishes you a Merry Christmas too…that’s been really nice and the genuinely mean it too! And no one is rude…even at the mall during peak shopping hours…I’m used to throwing elbows and people actually say excuse me here! It’s really not Southern CA! We will be home for Christmas this year since the airlines won’t let us use our miles and if we pay for tickets it will cost a fortune…so we’ll be here…hoping for snow! More to come…hope this finds you all well!

Much love, Donna
