Hi Ladies!

So much has happened recently I hardly know where to start! Well…the boys finished preschool around the 17th of May and then we drove to Florida for a week at the beach…it was wonderful! Then we had the summer reading program at the library…we finished reading all the books we committed to read (42 total) and the boys earned prizes…which was really cute! We go weekly for story time…they love it! Around the 19th of June we went to Charlotte, NC for Heroes Con…a comic book convention that Scott has wanted to attend for quite some time! It was wonderful…really kid friendly and small and quaint! It was a nice change of pace and we got to drive through the Smoky Mountains which are beautiful! Other than that there is nothing out that way! Ha! Our next adventure is some time in California (Thank God!) in the middle of July! We will be leaving together and flying into LA! Scott will stay there for a couple of days of meetings and the boys and I will fly up to San Jose to spend some time with my side of the family! We have some fun things planned and I know Nana and Pop will enjoy spending time with the boys too! Then the three of us will fly down to San Diego to spend a few days at Comic Con! I am so looking forward to seeing some of our friends and just being back in California for a while! Ironically, we weren’t going to go on the trip because of money this year! It is really expensive to fly and especially for all four of us…but an unexpected (and incredibly sad) death in our extended family prompted me to go! You never know and I really want to spend time with my family…why wait…you never know what tomorrow holds! Never say never! So…we’re going! Then I’m looking forward to a little rest before the boys start school! They will be starting kindergarten in the fall…it’s full days and I will be using my “free time” to do more work for Scott and get caught up on all those things I have been meaning to do! I am a little hesistant…but excited too! Scott has some shows coming up in the Fall and we will all go to Philadelphia together for Thanksgiving week…all expenses paid for him to appear at a show! How nice is that! We are excited about the fun upcoming things and pensive about life in general! It is short and fleeting…we need to enjoy every minute! I’m off my soap box…enjoy the days ladies!

Recently I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments
together at the airport. They had announced the departure.

Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the mother said, ‘I
love you, and I wish you enough.’

The daughter replied, ‘Mom, our life together has been more than enough.
Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Mom.’

They kissed and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated.

Standing there I could see she wanted and needed to
cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy, but she welcomed me in by
asking, ‘Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be
forever?’

‘Yes, I have,’ I replied. ‘Forgive me for asking, but why is this a
forever good-bye?’.

‘I am old, and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the
reality is – the next trip back will be for my funeral,’ she said.

‘When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, ‘I wish you enough.’
May I ask what that means?’

She began to smile. ‘That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations.

My parents used to say it to everyone.’ She paused a moment
and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and she smiled even
more.

‘When we said, ‘I wish you enough,’ we were wanting the other
person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain
them.’ Then turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were
reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray
the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may
appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good- bye.

She then began to cry and walked away.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to
appreciate them, a day to love them; but then an entire life to forget
them.

Only if you wish send this to the people you will never forget and
remember to send it back to the person who sent it to you. If you don’t
send it to anyone it may mean that you are in such a hurry that you have
forgotten your friends.

Hi All!

I’m a little late…but the 11th was the 1 year anniversary of us moving here to Nashville (Franklin)! How time flies! The business is still going well (slow but well) and we’re doing well! We’ve gotten used to being here (somewhat) and are eagerly awaiting the boys starting kindergarten in the Fall. We can’t believe how big they are getting! Still enjoying our summer so far and looking forward to some upcoming trips! I hope this finds you all well and enjoying your summer too!

Well! Today I did something I have never done before! I actually called up my in-laws and asked them to take the boys swimming in their community pool so I could get some work done at home! Sigh! Yes, I feel guilty…like I don’t want to take care of my own kiddos…but in reality…with preschool over sometimes they can be very needy! Usually we do stuff together every day! We read…go to the library…eat lunch at the train tracks watching for freight trains or go to the zoo or pool or just squirt each other with the hose in the backyard! Yes, it’s a good life for them, but I get to enjoy them as well! Oh well!

Hi All!

Today we went to the Story Time at the library! They have this awesome summer reading program where the kids can earn prizes for all of the books they either read or have read to them! Since we find ourselves reading a lot (we have always enjoyed reading) we decided to join! You have to tell them how many books you are planning to read over the course of the 6 week program! So we said we would read 42 books…the librarian looked at me like I was crazy! That’s only one book a day…big deal! Well today…only 4 days after we signed up we brought our Reading Logs (where you record you the books the you’ve read…we had 8 listed) to the library and the boys were so excited to get a prize! They give them coupons that they kids can save up for books or they can use right now for prizes! They were so excited to get a prize for their reading! The library has little goofy prizes, which the kids love, and they also have bigger prizes you can save your coupons for like books! So the reading program is going well and the kids are enjoying it and getting reading time in as well! Gotta love it!
